Motivational talks from IUT professors you may have misheard

 THIRD BLOG

Do you remember when you felt disappointed and needed some encouragement to carry on? Various factors, including proper sleep and inspiring talks, might help you get past this sensation. For months, I collected the impressive words of our professors as if I had found a pearl in an underwater shell and wrote them down on the backside of my notebook. These data were collected during classes; whether you noticed them in class or not, now is the best chance for me to share them with you. Listening to these words (phrases, or talks, or we can also call them advice) might also help you solve the problems that life throws at you.

TOP Professors' Best Advice and Speeches.

Without reporting, I directly wrote the sentences they said. And I will also give some feedback and explanations from my own experience. If you want to see pictures of the professors, click on this link. You can also get more information about them.

Abdul Rahim Naseer - Head of the Computer and Software Engineering (CSE) Department

"You should say, "I want to be CEO of Google or Microsoft. I want to contribute to Linux" or something like that. First, set goals, then work hard to achieve these goals. The key is to think outside the box. You understand that. Think differently. If you have some ideas, try to go for a startup company. You can have your own startup. Do your MS if you have a better idea. You have Silicon Valley. There, you can start your startup company. Then come back here and develop this country (Uzbekistan). You need to contribute to this country. Don't think that it is a small country. You can make it a famous country all over the world. "Try hard; I wish you all the best.""

Speech in our last lesson from Operating System.

He always wants us to fly high. As he always says, we should dream big. Similarly, there are a lot of benefits to dreaming big. Dreaming big might help you find your purpose in life. How do you know what's important if you're not dreaming? How will you get there if you never begin?

Alessandro Agostini - SOCIE and SBL Department

"Get out of your comfort zone; I don't need to know that you know; you need to learn other ways of solving the same problem. Don't get stuck with only the solution that you know. Learn new things and take a challenge."

                      A lesson in B+ Trees

Actually, before entering a lecture, I prepared for a new theme, which is about B+ trees. I learned the left-bias algorithm. Unfortunately, during the lecture, he showed us another variant of solving the B+ tree, which was strange to me. After hearing his motivational phrases (I will say them this way), I tried to learn the right bias algorithm also. I emailed him and arranged to meet with him during his office hours. After doing some hard work, I was able to solve the problem in the second way, as our professors taught. I got out of my comfort zone, and it helped me get the maximum number of points from the final exam. Don't you know how to get out of your comfort zone? Take a look at my friend's blog post

 "Imagination is better than knowledge."

 Week 13 lectures

Learning concepts is good. But it is nonsense if we do not imagine it. For example, if I say "ice cream" to you, what comes to mind? You feel coldness in your mouth and taste chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla. It means you are not paying attention to the word itself. You are imagining it.

"The more you read, the more you write. Reading good papers by top people is beneficial for your future project proposal. You definitely need to write one day. How do you write without reading any of them?"

Lecture on the Relational Data Model

I will demonstrate to you the importance of reading research papers by giving a link.

Xodjayev Jasurbek - SOCIE and MBA Department

What happens if you win a game? Will you receive a star or will your ranking rise? Try to do something. Be millionaire. Open your eyes. You have two options: 1) Study well and take your family to developed countries. Work and live there. 2) Study well and contribute to your country. No one comes from somewhere to develop your country. You need to study, and you should help yourself first.

Someone was playing a game on a phone during lecture time.

If you notice, lots of professors say about contributing to your country. Have you ever thought about developing your country? What is your primary goal in learning knowledge?

Ashish Seth SOCIE and MBA Department

When our professor was teaching us Strassen's matrix multiplication, we asked about how much money Strassen got for designing this algorithm. He said that "for introducing new kinds of algorithms, you get nothing. It is just an honor. Everyone claps for you. Actually, even a small reduction in time complexity has a significant impact. If you want to get money, first you should contact organizations and tell your algorithm whether they need it or not. Deal with them and make money."

"Be master. Learn everything step-by-step. OOP, data structures, algorithms, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and so on. "If you do not follow the steps, you cannot enjoy your job."

The first lesson in the Computer Algorithm course

"Learn the concept of programming, not the syntax or languages. I learned Basic, Pascal, ............. and the like. Every time programming languages change but concepts are the same. If you know concepts, you can easily learn the syntax."

Jose Tongzon - SOCIE, SBL and MBA Department

"Honesty is the best policy".

Students cheat a lot in attendance.

The more honest you are, the easier it is to trust you. Not only will others trust you, but you will feel more confident as well. That is far easier to achieve with honesty than with not being true or faithful. You must be honest at this age. To get your first job, you only need to take one or two steps. Most of you are working, aren't you? Have you ever been in a situation where honesty was required? Welcome to share in the comments.

"Work hard to reap greater rewards. Be professional in your field."

The lesson about Tracking the Macroeconomy 07.11.2022

He does not mean that you should not learn other things. But we do have an understanding of other fields. He gives the example of a famous person who was interviewed and was asked lots of questions that weren't related to his field. His answer surprised journalists. I do not clearly remember the situation. If you know, you know your condition and what to do

"Do have passive income, don't rely on your salary."

The lesson about Tracking the Macroeconomy 07.11.2022

He recommends students invest in mutual funds or real estate, sell things online, produce online courses, or engage in various side hustles that do not require the earner (us) to actively participate.

June Sup Lee - SOCIE and MBA Department

"Propose your project using big data analytics, computer vision, or any of them. Contact me, tell me your project idea, and I will be your investor. You can become the founder of your own company."

Small talk in an offline lesson

It is an excellent opportunity to apply your knowledge to real-world problems. As I told you in my first post, knowledge is nothing if we do not turn it into action. Here are some tips to help you start your own IT business.

"Work on real projects. Become a research assistant or teaching assistant to start your astonishing career."

Small talk in an offline lesson

One thing is that research assistants are paid by professors, while teaching assistants are paid by institutions. If you want to know more about RA and TA. Check out this article.

"Ask good questions from professors. Before that, study hard."

From online lectures.

Do you know why asking questions is important? You may lose the biggest thing in life if you do not read this small blog post.

James (Saejin) Kang SOCIE and SBL Department

"Start freelancing. Start your small startup company. Do something different."

 From online lectures.

"Being an effective communicator is important. Why? Do you want to get better bonuses, salary raises, better promotions and better relationships? Here is the reason to develop interpersonal skills."

"Why is communication important?"

He also gave one example. Let's say you run a company like his. You have kind one of the most respected, best engineers in your company. You also have an OK engineer. He is competent. He gets his job done. But he is not the best in the world. But he's got great communication skills. An opportunity for promotion comes up. You need to pick one of the two to be your manager. He or she is going to communicate with you the most. You have to tell them about a project. That person needs to work with the team. Would you pick the most talented engineer, or would you pick the OK engineer who shows great teamwork, is trustworthy, and so on? Most people choose the second engineer who has good communication skills. After all, being well-competent and a good communicator is awesome. I conclude that everyone should develop their hard skills as well as their soft skills.

Understanding the Meaning of Lifelong Lessons

Despite studying at any other University than INHA, everyone must appreciate their professors. Professors serve as a link between the community and mentorship. They may help you learn from your mistake, make career decisions, and even provide direction when life becomes unclear. Furthermore, I discovered a formula: if you learn something from ten people, say they are all 61 years old, then 10 x 61 = 610 years. You do not have to live for six centuries. All you have to do is listen for at least an hour. People derive these conclusions and lessons after living for so many years. Are you imagining them? You are learning these good things in a small amount of time. (Tashkent to Samarqand train trip)

To sum up, I never thought that I would be happy to share such wisdom words with you one day.

If you have any other advice from professors, please share it in the comments below or send me a direct message on my Telegram account so that I can update this post.
